A unique, multi-sector partnership to advance animal-free safety science
The Animal-Free Safety Assessment (AFSA) Collaboration is a unique multi-sector partnership between non-profit, corporate, and philanthropic leaders working to advance acceptance and use of animal-free safety science as a gold standard across regulatory frameworks worldwide.
Our approach towards progressing the safe use of non-animal methods (NAMs) is collaborative; we work with industry leaders, NAM developers, and many other partners to leverage current and emerging science in the field of NAMs and Next Generation Risk Assessment to transform regulatory frameworks and enhance the uptake and use of these methods.
Over the last decade, we spearheaded the global move away from animal testing for cosmetics – championing legal reforms and developed a first of its kind master class in animal-free safety assessment to build awareness and confidence in new scientific approaches to consumer protection.
